Multi-Platform Laser Treatment
With elōs Plus, we are able to treat a multitude of conditions. elōs™ (electro-optical synergy) combines the synergy of bipolar radiofrequency and light energies to treat superficial and benign vascular and pigmented lesions like rosacea, spider veins, red and brown spots, as well as skin imperfections caused by sun damage. It treats fine wrinkles and improves skin texture irregularities, laxity, and smoothness. While offering excellent comfort and safety during treatment. Here at Beauty Refined we use the elōs Plus for laser hair removal, skin tightening, and skin rejuvenation, as well for treating dermal conditions such as acne and skin pigmentation issues. The elōs Plus employs a combination of light or laser energy along with radiofrequency (RF) energy to deliver maximum results.
Each pulse of the elōs Photofacial device sends two types of energy into your skin, Intense Pulsed Visible Light and RadioFrequency energy that act synergistically to enhance the skin. Energy is given up to brown spots, blood vessels, and redness to gradually and gently lessen or eliminate these blemishes. The RadioFrequency energy also produces significant amounts of collagen, elastin and ground substances in the dermis, the thick supporting structure of the skin, resulting in a noticeable and significant smoothing of fine to moderate wrinkles and textural irregularities of the skin. The elōs is one of the safest technologies available with high patient comfort. Most people experience no side effects at all, though a few exhibits some short-term local redness. Treatment requires no patient downtime, and you can return to work immediately after.

Conditions elōs Photofacial treats: Fine lines, rosacea, flushing, pore size, ruddy complexion, broken capillaries and spider veins, hyperpigmentation, melasma, freckles, age and sun spots, as well as non-pitted acne scars can all be diminished in a softer, gentler way with an elōs Photofacial. All patients see positive results from an elōs Photofacial without any of the potential side effects seen with other laser systems.
Why is it recommended that I perform a Microdermabrasion or Skinwave Facial before my IPL?
IPL works by penetrating the layers of skin tissue below the surface. That means that all the skin cells on the top remain untouched. Most people despite good hygiene acquire blackheads, makeup, and dead cell build up. All the debris on the surface of our skin can leave our skin looking dull and clogged despite the use of laser technology. A pre-treat Microderm or Skinwave is a step that removes dead skin, cleans the pores, and hydrates and preps the skin for the IPL treatment. At Beauty Refined we like to create “wow” results for our clients and make recommendations that ensure the most optimal outcomes are achieved.
Laser Hair Removal
For laser hair removal, we use the diode platform on the elōs Plus, with an option for PAINLESS hair removal. Prior to your visit, be sure to shave the area targeted for hair removal. Although the diode is designed to be comfortable for patients during treatment, we do offer a topical numbing cream that can be used for additional comfort. For optimal results, multiple treatment sessions are recommended. Your treatment plan will be adjusted according to hair type and coarseness, but most patients are able to achieve the outcome they desire after 6-8 sessions, usually spaced approximately 4-6 weeks apart.

Skin Rejuvenation & Acne Scarring with Sublative RF
The Sublative™ ergonomic attachment is used to help rejuvenate the skin from discolorations, wrinkles, fine lines, and scarring. This is truly the next generation of safe and effective rejuvenation technology. This treatment is excellent for acne scarring, including pitted and rolling scars, and textural changes like divots and depressions in the skin. The Sublative™ applicator is designed to use bipolar RF energy to heat the underlying tissue, promoting healing and improving skin’s health and texture. After your treatment session, skin can appear similar to a mild sunburn for the first 24 hours. There might also be an appearance of tiny dots on the skin. These dots are typically barely visible but should disappear completely after about one week. Scrubbing the spots to remove them is not necessary and should be avoided. For the best improvements in skin condition, four treatments are recommended, one month apart. The Sublative™ treatment is most effective on Fitzpatrick skin types 1-4.

These procedures are truly an advancement in the non-surgical, non-invasive treatment of aged skin. The results can include smoother, clearer, healthier, more youthful looking skin that does not have the look of cosmetic surgery or laser surgery.
Acne & Skin Pigmentation Treatment
For acne treatment, an intense pulsed light (IPL) attachment on the elōs Plus known as SRA – IPL can be used. The light combined with bi-polar RF energy can penetrate deep beneath the skin to eliminate the bacteria that can lead to acne. This can also aid in slowing the production of excessive oils in the skin.

Uneven skin pigmentation can also be treated with IPL. This procedure can help promote collagen production, reduce the appearance of red or brown spots, and reduce pore size. IPL treatment is most ideal for skin types 1-3. For best results, skin should not be tanned. After treatment, skin may be slightly pink, but color should improve within a few hours. Brown spots that have been treated with IPL typically become darker after treatment but should slough off naturally within the first week. Scrubbing the spots is not advisable. Your recommended amount of treatments will depend on your level of sun damage, but most patients can achieve their desired outcome after 3-5 treatments approximately 3-4 weeks apart.
